Accepting Your UC Admission Offer: What You Need to Know
Congratulations! You’ve been admitted to a University of California (UC) campus—an incredible achievement. Now, it’s time to take the next step: officially accepting your offer.
Accepting your UC admission offer is a straightforward process, but there are important details to keep in mind. Below, we’ll walk you through how to submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and what to expect next.
How to Accept Your UC Admission Offer
To reserve your spot at a UC campus, you’ll need to:
Agree to the conditions of admission – Carefully review the terms outlined in your admission offer.
Submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) – This officially confirms your acceptance.
Pay the SIR deposit ($250) – This nonrefundable, nontransferable deposit secures your space and is applied to your first term’s tuition.
Important Notes About Accepting Your Offer
You can only accept one offer from one UC campus.
If you received a UC application fee waiver, you may qualify to defer the SIR deposit until your financial aid is disbursed.
If you haven't submitted the Systemwide Statement of Legal Residence (SSLR), you may need to provide additional documentation for tuition residency determination.
Deadlines to Accept Your Admission Offer
May 1, 2025 – Deadline for first-year (freshman) applicants.
June 1, 2025 – Deadline for transfer applicants.
Spring Events for Admitted Students
Once you’ve accepted your offer, take advantage of admitted student events happening this spring! These events, typically held in April and May, offer a great opportunity to:
Explore campus life and housing options.
Connect with faculty, staff, and current students.
Learn about academic programs, financial aid, and student support services.
Many UC campuses will also host events that are open to prospective students, so if you’re still deciding, you may want to attend. You can find event details in your campus applicant portal or view the full list of Spring 2025 Campus Events.
Next Steps
After submitting your SIR, stay on top of important deadlines, including financial aid, housing applications, and orientation sign-ups. If you have questions about the process, reach out to the admissions office at your UC campus.
